Review: Paleta Mini Masquerade – Juvia’s Place

Pret: Pe Beautybay costa 30 lire, adica 150 lei.
EN: It’s been a while since I first found out about Juvia’s place and their super pigmented palettes. I really wanted one, but in the beginning they did not offer International Shipping and when they started to, the shipping was way too pricey. So, when I received my newsletter email from Beautybay where they announced that they became a Juvia’s Place Retailer, I flipped out and I ordered this palette right away. And, if you didn’t know, Beautybay offers free shipping on orders over 18 pounds, which is a great deal. Also, the palette was here in only a week, very well packed and no eyeshadow was shattered or destroyed.
Now let me tell you the most important things you need to know about this palette:
Price: On Beautybay it is 30 pounds and since it has 16 colours, it means each shade costs 1.87 pounds (3.6 grams of product), which is a great deal.
Package: The palett is pink on the outside and yellow on the inside. You can also find the classic Juvia’s African print. It doesn’t have a mirror, but I never cared about this since I actually disike mirrors in palettes (they always get dirty). The palette is magnetic and it’s not made of plastic, which I love.
Colors and textures: The shades represent the colors you can find on the costumes and the soil in African culture. This is why I like this palette: it has crazy colors like blue, purple, green and pink, but it also has wearable warm neutrals. The palette offers matte and shimmery shades. I can say that the shimmery shades are extremely pigmented, creamy, blendable and glittery. I really love them. On the other hand, the matte shades just don’t speak to me. I don’t find them pigmented or creamy or blendable. I actually think there are so many other drugstore matte eyeshadow options that are much better than this. Anyway, I’m actually happy that this palette doesn’t have much matte neutral shades and I still like it for those shimmery shades. Also, the Giza shade can be a greaaaat highlighter!
You have all the swatches above and they were all applied with a finger, without any base underneath.
What do you think? Did you purchase any Juvia’s Place palette? Which one is your favorite?
XOXO
